Stunning vintage Rolex Oyster Solar Aqua reference 2784, from 1940, all original. All stainless steel Oyster case, measuring 31mm before crown. Crown signed Oyster Patent. Stunning 24 hour dial, signed Solar Aqua. blue steel hands. 17 jewel manual winding movement. Watch is running fine, holding decent time. Am unsure of it’s service history. Watch comes on a period style brown leather watch strap & with a vintage Rolex box. The Oyster reference 2784 forms part of a small group of vintage Rolex Oysters, all from the late 1930s, early 1940’s that were intended originally for sale in the Canadian market. These include the Oyster Centregraph, Oyster Lipton, Oyster Raleigh & the Oyster Aqua. The Rolex Canadian market Oyster watches date back to the late 1930’s.
