This is an original WW2 era British-made MK2 or Brodie tin hat. Dated 1941 on its liner & liner producer is N. LTD There is one hole on each side of the rim which stands for the ballistic level of its steel used to produce this helmet. Starting from 1940, British began to use the number of holes on the rim to categorize different quality of helmet steel in order to save raw materials during the war. This particular helmet was issued to the home defense unit - warden so it has the second best ballistic impact level -2A (just below the army version).
